The low-voltage composite switch is a product used for switching capacitors in low-voltage reactive power compensation devices. Its basic working principle is to connect a thyristor and a magnetic latching relay in parallel, controlled by an internal single-chip microcomputer: at the moment of switching in or out, the thyristor performs zero-crossing switching, after which the magnetic latching relay carries the running current. The composite switch combines the advantages of zero-crossing switching without inrush current with the low operating power consumption of an AC contactor.
