The Erenhot railway port, the entry-exit node of the China-Europe freight train middle corridor, handled 1,145 China-Europe freight trains in the first quarter, up 22.3% year-on-year — a record high, China Railway Hohhot Group said on April 2.
In January, the port added a new ’Solombarka-Weizizhen’ route; it now operates 75 routes reaching more than 70 hub stations in over 10 countries including Germany and Poland.
To improve efficiency, the port coordinates cargo sources and capacity, deepens the ’two stations as one’ model with Zamyn-Uud Station in Mongolia through a ’daily dialogue, monthly meeting’ mechanism, dynamically sharing train-flow structures and yard stocks, and coordinating train reception, loading and unloading.
’Relying on the 95306 ”digital port” system we continue paperless customs clearance, strengthen information sharing with customs and border inspection, and greatly cut clearance time and raise efficiency,’ said Wu Shujun, director of the freight handover office at Erenhot Station.
In the first quarter, inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains through Erenhot carried 110,200 TEUs and 946,400 tons of goods, up 14.6% and 19.7% year-on-year respectively.
