The ’Win-Win Path of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway’ China-Indonesia Friendship Storytelling Event was held in Jakarta on April 28, bringing together guests from institutions, think tanks, enterprises, media and associations of both countries to discuss friendship and cooperation prospects.
Eleven invited speakers shared their stories with the Jakarta-Bandung HSR from five dimensions: technical standards, ecological protection, industrial economy, people-to-people bonds and capacity building. The venue featured a high-speed train model exhibition, multimedia VR interactive zones, naked-eye 3D displays, and exhibitions of Indonesian residents’ HSR-themed paintings and photographs.
Chinese guests said in speeches that the Jakarta-Bandung HSR is a flagship project of China-Indonesia Belt and Road cooperation and a gold brand of the two countries’ high-quality cooperation. Since opening more than two years ago, it has carried over 15 million cumulative passengers, becoming an important travel choice for Indonesians and vivid proof of win-win cooperation and people-to-people connection — a crystallization of technology-empowered development and a microcosm of mutual learning between the two civilizations.
Dwiyana, president director of KCIC, said the HSR is an important symbol of transport modernization for Indonesia and Southeast Asia and a true embodiment of solid Indonesia-China cooperation. Its construction and operation have brought broad positive effects, including environmental protection, economic growth, regional development, and the rise of multiple emerging tourist destinations along the Jakarta-Bandung corridor.
The event was guided by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and the Chinese and Indonesian embassies, hosted by the China Center for International Publishing Projects, and co-organized by China Railway International, CRRC Qingdao Sifang, Indonesia’s state railway company Kereta Api Indonesia and KCIC.
