Key tip: From CR450 high-speed trains to humanoid robots and large cruise ships, foreign media say China's advanced manufacturing is strengthening its innovation, competitiveness and global contribution.

Not long ago, the National Conference on Advanced Manufacturing was held in Beijing, setting out directions of intelligent, green and integrated development. The 2026 World Manufacturing Convention has just taken place in Hefei, Anhui, under the theme "Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better World."

With these two events, overseas media have continued to follow the achievements and trends of China's high-quality development in advanced manufacturing, arguing that the sector's growing strength supports both China's growth and global innovation and green transition.

Landmark results keep emerging: the CR450 high-speed train completed full-vehicle testing, the Zhuque-3 Y2 rocket achieved China's first land-based rocket recovery, and the second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flower City, will be delivered and enter service in November.

Reuters noted that the national conference stressed "making advanced manufacturing bigger and stronger," with China channeling more resources into the sector to promote technological self-reliance and economic growth.

Travel and Tour World focused on advanced rail transit, noting that from the Fuxing CR400BF-GS to the CR450, the world's fastest train, China's high-speed network keeps pushing the limits of rail transport, with deep integration of smart manufacturing, advanced train design and cutting-edge safety systems sustaining its global lead.

Humanoid robots are a representative achievement. Turkey's Anadolu Agency noted that China's humanoid robot industry leads in several key links of the embodied intelligence chain and is moving from adopting international standards to helping set them.

Wired reported on the World Humanoid Robot Games held in Beijing in August. "China has achieved remarkable success in robot hardware manufacturing," it said, noting advances in miniaturized high-power motors that allow humanoid robots to maintain dynamic balance at speed, and algorithms that let them learn complex movements through simulation.

"Walking into a Chinese EV production line is like walking into the future. Giant robotic arms work in coordination under AI guidance, automation reaches 99 percent, and machines make machines," a CBS reporter wrote after visiting a Geely plant.

Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao commented that China is growing into a powerful engine of global medical innovation, with the integration of AI technology accelerating progress in imaging, surgical robots and diagnostics.
